DIGGING FOR BRITAIN

If you are not already watching it, I can thoroughly recommend Digging For Britain aired on BBC4 every Tuesday. It’s archaeology  based but I think it has plenty to interest detectorists.

And, if you haven’t been watching it and have access to iplayer the 10th February edition included an item about Operation Nightingale at Barrow Clump. Nightingale helps to re-habilitate forces personnel. Geoff and Lesley Burr have been involved for some time and both can be seen in action – at least I think it’s Lesley who appears fleetingly as she jumps into a hole.

Give it a try.

Andrew.

P.S. Actually Geoff appears three times and you get a fleeting glimpse of me in a purple t-shirt – Lesley. Richard Osgood, the dig director thoroughly recommends detectorists as ‘part of the team’ at one point!
