There has been much discussion within the club about payment for access to search sites. To offer payment could set a problematic precedent with several pitfalls. Recent efforts to obtain new land have not prompted farmers to ask for payment – which suggests that it is not uppermost in their minds.
The committee has therefore decided not not go down that road.
There is nothing to stop a member, as an individual, without the endorsement of WKDC, organising a search on land sourced by that member for which the owner demands payment. No mention should be made of WKDC when negotiating permission.
