Search Report For Sunday 25th November

The weather forecast for the day was dry but cold, I considered this as I drove around the M25, through heavy rain and horrendous road spray.  I thought nobody will attend this search, but to my surprise when I reached the meeting point fifteen members had arrived and it was still bucketing down with rain. No point in attempting to complete a search log as it would have just turned into a soggy piece of paper. At just past 09:00 we headed of to the farm it only took about ten minutes to get there, on arrival the rain had stopped and there was even a small patch of blue sky.

The first thing we did was to try and find a lost key for the owner in the paddock area, but no avail as the area was too contaminated for our machines to locate it.

As for finds, we had silver in the form of a 1915 George the V Shilling in good condition. There was also a copper French coin of Louis XV1 dating 1774-1791 and in fair condition considering as it was a copper alloy coin. There was a 1915 penny which was in surprisingly good condition. There is the possibility of a Celtic coin not yet confirmed. One artefact I found very interesting was small toy iron which was made of brass circa 1950s

I hope everyone made it home ok, as there was a ten mile traffic jam east bound on the M25 due a multi car pile up earlier in the day, I took the A25 which had only light traffic.
