Ploughing match 3rd October

Six members erected our gazebos and display on a misty and slightly chilly autumnal day in Sutton at Hone. Alas, no new land was acquired – farmers seem to give us a wide berth. However we stimulated some interest amongst some members of the public and were even able to supply a vintage tractor owner with a ploughshare from the odds and sods display. Some children were quite happy spending a long time raking over the pile of junk, including:coins, bullet cases, buckles, shotgun cartridge ends, nails etc – you know the sort of stuff. Who needs an ipad or Xbox? Annoyingly, the Indian summer returned the next day. Ho hum.

Here are some more pictures of the day from Geoff.
